Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit ecumenical housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing worldwide.  Spring of Life is a partnership of 10 churches in Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Mt. Prospect and Palatine that has participated in this effort since 1997 by building affordable housing in suburbs northwest of Chicago.

Spring of Life works through the Northern Fox Valley Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.  The Affiliate builds homes in conjunction with other partnerships similar to ours, as well as corporate sponsors and community volunteers.  Since 1990 the Affiliate has supervised construction of 40 homes in Carpentersville, Elgin, South Elgin, and St. Charles.

Spring of Life is a partnership of 10 churches in Chicago’s northwest suburbs that builds affordable housing under the auspices of the Northern Fox Valley Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.  Although the partnership is committed to providing the volunteers and money required to complete each house it starts, we welcome community support and volunteers of all faiths—or no faith—who actively embrace Habitat’s goals of eliminating housing poverty.

This is the latest housing project in Elgin for the Spring of Life Partnership—our seventh house.

The ‘rehab” project began on September 2, 2009 for a four-bedroom home with a living room, dining area and kitchen. This will be the first “rehab” project for us as we go “green” in refurbishing this home for our next family.

Contact your Steering Committee member to find out how you can help with construction efforts. Community volunteers click here to learn how you can help us build this house.

Our sixth house was completed in June 2009
